I did do DIY, on the car. Some of my colleagues had mentioned that it was making screeching noises but with all the sound proofing I had barely heard it.

Front brakes stripped, cleaned, lubed where the pads slide in the carrier and put back together. The pads needed a hammer and drift to get them out and have not worn well, both vehicles I own need front discs and pads (facepalm)

On the plus side, I now know that this car has the biggest discs and calipers of the options available so I can order the right parts.

I think I'll be replacing my brakes with either the 184PS diesel or Cupra brakes. These are more than effective enough but the few times I've used the brakes at motorway speed the pedal needs a lot of effort for a few more miles and the discs are covered in black. I could upgrade the pads instead but these are really good for day to day driving.

I think my car has the smallest brakes available...

I just ordered a set of standard replacement EBC Ultimax discs and pads for £93.73 delivered, nothing fancy but decent quality from here https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Haha nice!

Update on our heating system... after a bit of effort and tooing and froing, we have a fully working heating system.

15-8mm solder joint and the purchase of a blow torch was required.

I also had two stiff TRV pins which have been released and are now fully working. Yippee.. home tonight!

You may not be out of the woods entirely mate... Iirc Part 10 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 (the 2003 Act) has now reformed the law relating to double jeopardy.!
(Depending on how serious the offence was that you've got away with, of course). ;)

I sanded an entire wall. It was exhausting. The whole wall was basically replastered with filler.

Day 12 of 14 in quarantine and just clicked 6 weeks away from home.....

You know when you need to pee but you can hang on ok, till you get home and the last little run from the car and in the door is almost unbearable

That’s what this feels like, so close it bites harder
