Well it didn’t go that well.

I’m offshore for another day. The procedure is I have to practice extraordinary social distancing from anyone that comes on board tomorrow (as do the other 5 stuck here with me) then chopper to Darwin, another night in that f**king hotel and then home the long way through Alice Springs on Friday.

And there is a good chance I have to self isolate for 14 of 17 days I’m home. It all depends on which AFP agent I get on the day

Can they not add a 3rd roster so you guys actually get a break? :D

It sound properly crap for you and I'm surprised they're even risking the social distancing thing. Also, are they going to clean the accommodation in between?

This place is being sanitised that regularly I reckon the paint will be peeling off soon.

Yup mate they do a full sanitise on the rooms on change of occupant. The guys coming onboard have already done pre-screening, and 7 days quarantine in Darwin with daily temp/health checks.

It’s not the regular procedure, they just can’t risk sending the 5 of us (going to Sydney on Friday) to Darwin tomorrow because if you transit for more than 24 hrs in Darwin you get locked away for 2 weeks in a hotel

Been confirmed I have to self isolate at home for 14 days. Of my 17 days off. After I’ve effectively been isolated for the last 4 weeks. I’m ready to twist off.
And if one more c**t this morning says “I thought you were going home today” I going to fair drill them

the silver lining is Jess is currently living in my place as hers was getting repairs and the builders have stopped work and she has no floors. So I'll still get laid at least (lol)

Told the ex I'm still having the kids, she's just going to have to drop them off.

There still is the chance I will get released from the self iso, the company is waiting on clarity from the NSW Govt. on our classification upon returning. We have a international traveller returning exemption from the Federal Govt for point of entry to Australia, but the NSW Govt. are currently treating us as any other returning international traveller. Politics mate :@

Jon you haven't been without your own crap hand either bud, I feel for you for not being about to do your contracting work. I'm still employed so that is a lotto win atm. I really haven't got a right to whinge with my position, but it is the vent thread (lol) Just missing my kids and Jess a whole lot

It's all part of the contracting risk mate. Part of the deal.

Things are starting to look up, I've had a few calls over the just couple of days. I'm just making the most of the time at home, which is exactly what I know you want to be doing.

(fubar) The politics of people protecting themselves from any kind of common sense imo.

Ridiculous - but if you can stay with Jess and the kids, at least thats better than that damn hotel room (drunk)

Seems to be the law of the world nowadays. Treat everyone as a complete fecking idiot...even though many are not.

Problem is most countries are even run by the same fecking idiots these days.

Hope you can see your family very soon, kiwi.

Solidworks Exam! (swear)

My work laptop is unusually slow and keeps freezing. It then starts updating part way through the exam.

Meanwhile, I have 40 minutes left in a 1 hour exam to finish 10 questions because I still haven't done the first one.

Oh and my laptop isn't flecking rebooting!

I failed the exam. The laptop still hasn't rebooted so I just exited the exam software.

What a shambles.

I have to wait 2 weeks for a resit now.

Yeah Win10. Vista was definitely worse. And lets not forget Win8...... 0_0

The laptop finally seems to be working properly now so I'm going to try and do Q1 in prep for the resit.

XP was actually before my time, I've never had it on my own PC. I was on Vista for 1 year then Win 7.

I know everyone loves XP but is that just because it was around for years?
