Re: The next prime minister
At least the press are giving equal coverage to the much larger issue of Anti-Muslim abuse in the Tory party.

By "much larger issue of" I assume you mean "an actual issue of".

Re: The next prime minister
I've already told you it was on twitter. How much more evidence do you need than someone with a union Jack flag in their username telling you it happened?

Thumb screws might be a step too far, but I'd gladly kick the Bishops out of the House of LordsStMarks wrote:Fwiw I think both parties could learn a lot from the Chinese approach to religions.

I'm not too keen on putting kids into re-education camps.

Depends on the context of "camp", I suppose.....although I'm guessing they're not China's version of Butlin's.

Re: The next prime minister
So, indoctrination to a cult of prehistoric fairy stories is preferable to a good free state education.?Kwacky wrote:StMarks wrote:Fwiw I think both parties could learn a lot from the Chinese approach to religions.

Fair enough, we're all entitled to our opinions*.

Re: The next prime minister
So everyone who follows a religion is indoctrinated which in turn means it's justifiable to indefinitely incarcerate sometime without them having committed a crime?
An interesting perspective, if you're not a fan of basic human rights.

Re: The next prime minister
In all honesty politicians tell probably bigger lies than the religious leaders. Sadly power corrupts regardless of how you are trying to indoctrinate people.

Re: The next prime minister
U.S. goods and services trade with United Kingdom totaled an estimated $262.3 billion in 2018. Exports were $141.1 billion; imports were $121.2 billion. The U.S. goods and services trade surplus with United Kingdom was $19.9 billion in 2018
From Wiki and I've not fact checked it.

Re: The next prime minister
I don't know if having a trade surplus is a good thing or not, to be honest.
Probably not, I'm guessing.

Re: The next prime minister
UK has a big deficit with the world as a whole.
If you read Branson’s interview, in the worst case scenario Britain could run out of money i.e. go bankrupt. Were it not for the services industries, we already would be.
