If it is a split gasket which it does sound like it has probably been like that since new as gaskets don't really degrade or fail unless they have been disturbed which I assume this one hasn't

That's why I was prepared to wait for Mike to deal with it. I could have got in to Kawasaki Birmingham but I have no idea what their service is like. They could be fantastic or they could be cowboys.

Took it to Mike. The problem was a bolt on the engine armour which wasn't seated correctly. He's replaced the bolt and tightened up another. He reckons that's it but any more problems to give him a call.
He said if he doesn't get another call this month he's still got enough work to see him until the end of August.
He didn't charge me either.
Spanked the bike on the drying roads and no sign of a leak.

Cleaned all the welsh flies off the Multi from the other days' ride.
Then fitted a bigger foot for the sidestand and a protector for the abs sensor on the front wheel.

How did you get on with it?
I rode into work. Hay fever was bad this morning. I don't like riding and sneezing.

He mentioned you on Saturday when I saw him. For someone who is rushed off his feet he loves to natter.

I'm so glad I washed it yesterday. Doubly glad I took the advice from the weatherman so left my waterproofs at home.

It's not, it's on the right wall to our main reception, out of sight. But it does mean our receptionists are facing it all day so it's secure.

Topped up the oil. Couldn't see it on the dip stick.
Looked at the coolant below min level.
Looked at the bodywork I'd need to remove to get to top up point.
Went in house and had dinner.
