Re: Game of Thrones - Season 8
Daenerys will die , Arya will kill Cersei but be killed by the mountain who is in turn slain by the hound , Bran kills Jaime and is killed by Tyrion , who moves north to be with Sansa , Jon renounces the throne and Gendry becomes King .

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 8
I think Jack is probably right and if thast the case that really shows that show has become a bit too predictable.
Personally I think ive got to the point where ill be glad its over now. I don't really care what happens, considering at the start of this thread I said I cant see them dropping the ball this late on and that it would be good….well I was wrong.

I’m praying to the old gods and the new, that it’s not as obvious as it seems.....

That's a really good rant about the last episode.

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 8
Just imagine an episode showing the Night King and his advancing army after the wall and on their march towards Winterfell. You could have spent all that time getting the anticipation built up, showing the attacks on villages, Winterfell preparing, the armies of the North deciding what to do and what they though about Daenrys and whether or not to support her. You could have built up the hatred the north has for the mad king and for the way the Starks were treated by the Lannisters, all the time showing what Cersei was up to and what her thinking was for the next moves.
They're rushed it and they've robbed us.

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 8
More dragons is the latest fan theory. I noticed in the new credits that there are 4 dragons on the spinning gold band. The new theory is that one of the dragons, Drogon, disappeared in series 5 to go and lay eggs. Those are now medium sized and ready to join the battle.
If you've seen the trailer to the next episode it shows Euron on a ship. You hear a dragon cry, he looks up and when he sees something his face changes to someone who is scared.

I did think the dragon he 'killed' would come back perhaps?Kwacky wrote:More dragons is the latest fan theory. I noticed in the new credits that there are 4 dragons on the spinning gold band. Re: Game of Thrones - Season 8
If there are going to be more dragons it needs to be explained where they came from and how they got to wherever they are going to appear .
I can accept that one or more of Danys dragons may have laid eggs , I would like if Bran warged into them/it to get them where they need to be .

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 8
Well i've watched the latest episode.
Do not read on if you havent.
I found it quite harrowing tbh. It made the point about who should rule. Driven by revenge rather than compassion, but that was predictable.
The last scenes of this episode are beautiful and possibly makes it very predictable who will end Dany given her experiences in the city. Could she be the assassin of two major characters? Should be someone else - maybe it will be.
I thought Cercie and Jamie end story was hopeless.
The Clagaine battle was brilliant.
I thought how they used the dragon in terms of effects was brilliant, but very convenient which is a shame - all of a sudden the crossbow isnt any good again? And loads of them. Anyone remember Doom (the original game). The dragon is just a BFG!
Too much faffing about at the start of the program and too much dragon towards the end. It could have been written far more intelligently with a surprise or two - i don't believe there were any.
You can sadly write the final episode without seeing it imo.
Be interested to see what others think.

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 8
I enjoyed it just for the performance from Maisie Williams.
There were good bits and bad bits. The Hound fighting an unmasked Darth Vader was a bit extra. Good way to deal with their ending though, with the reference to fire.
Jamie v Euron was decent. Jon Snow realising he's on the wrong side. Grey Worm not giving a shit now he's got nothing to live for. It's played well to show how the sides are dividing. I reckon Daenerys totalled the place because she's realised she can't rule it. The best way to play it out is for her to just feck off back home.
But yeah, the way they dragons have/have not been used is pretty shit.

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 8
Looking forward to the last book and reading the proper ending.
As someone said before, they’re cramming far too much in to, albeit longer episodes, too short a time frame.
Agreed there were good and bad bits, be interesting to see what the Jon, Danny, Tyrion, Davos characters develop do next.

I think I'd like to read all the books once the TV series has finished.

Re: Game of Thrones - Season 8
I’ve just started reading them again, I have a suspicion that the last book may be released shortly after TV series ends, so hopefully will have caught up.
The books are quite a bit different and much better, although still reckon GOT is best thing I’ve seen on the box.
