Mr Williamson is quoted in several of Thursday's newspapers as saying he was the victim of a "vendetta" and a "kangaroo court"...
He told Sky News that he "swore on his children's lives" that he was not responsible for the leak.

Re: Our MP sacked
The Tory party is falling apart. There are a lot of people with axes to grind against their supposedly fellow MPs.

Re: Our MP sacked
They're doing a really good job of handing power over to the likes of UKIP is these elections. Which was the reason for the referendum in the first place.

The average age of the Tory party membership is 73. Unless they start appealing to the younger generations, they are finished.

Re: Our MP sacked
A lot of the Tory Counsellors standing in today's elections have refused to knock on any doors. They've somehow managed to alienate both the remain and leave part of their core vote.Deegee wrote:Can’t happen soon enough imho.duke63 wrote:The average age of the Tory party membership is 73. The only thing they can hope for now is a low turn out.

Re: Our MP sacked
We've had no door knockers around here and it's a very strong tory stomping ground - Sajid Javid is our MP. A couple of counsellors have gone independent.

Re: Our MP sacked
Since 2010 the Tories have:
Cut local government funding by 67% meaning people are paying higher Council Tax rates for significantly reduced local services.
Cut 21,000+ police jobs and closed down 600+ police stations, ideologically driven cuts that have contributed to the soaring violent crime rates.
Created a lost decade of wage growth with their wage repression policies, which means that UK workers are earning an average 5% less than they were in 2008 in real terms.
Ruined our nation's future economic potential by deliberately under-investing in drivers of economic prosperity like infrastructure, education, and affordable housing.
Forced local councils to flog off over £9 billion worth of public land and property to private developers and property speculators in order to fill some of the gaps left by their unprecedented 67% cut to local government funding.
Ideologically vandalised the social safety net, with a particular emphasis on abusing the sick and disabled, resulting in the creation of a system that has seen hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people hit with draconian sanctions for the most trivial of mistakes, and tens of thousands of disabled people dying within weeks of being declared "fit for work".
Continued flogging £billions worth of weapons to the homophobic, misogynistic, head-chopping, democracy-repressing, terrorism-spreading, journalist-dismembering Saudi Arabia tyrants, despite knowing that they're using British weapons to commit war crimes in Yemen.
Privatised 3/4 of the secondary schools in England into the hands of unaccountable private sector pseudo-charities that have been siphoning £billions out of the education budget into their own pockets via ridiculously bloated executive salaries, dodgy no-bid contracts with themselves, their families, and their mates, transfer pricing scams, and anything else they can get away with.
Introduced despicable "Hostile Environment" legislation that led to British citizens being denied the right to work, banking services, housing, social security, health care, and the right to even live in the UK. As a result dozens of mainly-black British citizens were deported, with several actually dying in exile overseas.
Declared ideological war on the NHS resulting in soaring waiting times, hundreds of closed down services, and an unprecedented NHS recruitment crisis.
Forced students to pay the highest tuition fees in the world for public university resulting in youngsters leaving university with vast debts with inflation +3% repayment terms which mean that over 3/4 will never pay these debts off despite an entire working lifetime of paying an additional 9% "aspiration tax" on their disposable income.
Continually portrayed the Labour Party as a threat to the stability and security of our nation only to deliver three years of absurd Brexit chaos and have their defence secretary sacked for leaking state secrets!
Yet millions of bootlickers who actually enjoy being trampled on and abused by their Tory lords and masters will flock to the polls today to vote for even more of this ideologically driven Tory malice.
If you don't get out and vote against the Tories today in the local elections, you're passively helping them out.

What have the Tories ever done for us?
Wife has been in safeguarding training at school today.
Get this for a statistic. Last year alone there were 53,760 safeguarding plans put in place to protect children in what should be their safest place, their own home environment.

If you are going to vote independent make sure you check them out. They may not be as independent as they appear.

@ Monty.
You don't feel that another party/govt. would be forced to make similar cutbacks given the same set of circumstances??

Re: Our MP sacked
You have a pot of money. You know how much you can spend.
Cutting police forces, schooling and health but spending a few billion on a train line so it's 20 minutes quicker into London is not a good way to use your cash. And we're still at the planning stages. And the estimated costs have tripled.
