ZX6R Dyno
Well I finally got around to getting my bike on the Dyno for a full ECU remap.
They managed to get another 8 BHP out of it, but that isn’t the best bit. The extra power is nice and very noticeable in the mid range as it pulls much stronger but can’t say it’s that noticeable at the top end. At least not on the road, might be a different story on the track.
They also turned off the pair valve and exhaust servo so there is no longer any exhaust gas going back through the engine.
But the best bit is they mapped the secondary throttle to stay partially open when you close the throttle. So now when you roll on the throttle mid corner it’s instant, really smooth and very accurate. Made a massive difference to the stability of the bike at all speeds but especially slow speed corners.
Now it pops, bangs and crackles as you roll off into every corner.
So it's now de-CATed and a straight though system, but I've left the mid box in. I fitted a pine box link pipe last week, but it was just too loud and swapped it back. Sounded fantastic but would have driven me mad on a long journey and probably wouldn't be allowed on the track. Plus from the outside apart from the end can, no one can tell it's been modified.
Really pleased with it and would recommend Jordan Bike’s Dyno if anyone is thinking about it.

Good work. I would really like the 853 properly mapped at CJS if funds allow at some point.

Re: ZX6R Dyno
Absolutely brilliant clearly done a top notch job. Out of interest what did that cost to get it remapped and dynoed?

Normally 380 quid, but I called them just before Christmas and asked if they had any empty slots that needed filling. They did it for 295.Rossgo wrote:Absolutely brilliant clearly done a top notch job. Out of interest what did that cost to get it remapped and dynoed?

Re: ZX6R Dyno
Nice work Monty.
Did they flash the ecu or have you used a tuning module?
Probably notice it has improved mpg too as it's running more efficiently. Win win

Re: ZX6R Dyno
Those are great real world gains Monty, I was really surprised to hear that you were running way rich, has it been on a dyno before or was it oem spec?

Re: ZX6R Dyno
Me too, Ive been running it without the CATs and an aftermarket can for two years thinking I was possibly damaging the valves. No idea if it's been on the Dyno but suspect not. I bought it with 6k on the clock 3 years ago completely stock. Not a mark on it, even the headers where spotless.Deegee wrote:Those are great real world gains Monty, I was really surprised to hear that you were running way rich, has it been on a dyno before or was it oem spec?
It either been a track bike that they put all the standard stuff back on to sell, or it's sat in someones garage for 6 years.

Re: ZX6R Dyno
Flashed it, but very annoyingly I blew both fork seals on the way home. Don't suppose as the closest slapper to Buxton you've got one of those front stands that allow you to drop the forks I could borrow?Blade wrote:Nice work Monty.

HAHA no I didn't get that far. But I have just ordered new bushes to go with the news oil seals, our last flight did for them!
