That story makes no sense. Be interesting to find out what’s actually happened.

Re: Guy Martin in trouble
Reading the article it looks as though he's been a bit of a sneaky-Pete in trying to get a licence & maybe avoid taking a test...?

Re: Guy Martin in trouble
I wouldn't have thought that, in his late 30's & having worked with & around motor vehicles all his life, that he wouldn't have done that 20 years ago.?D41 wrote:Reading the article it looks as though he's been a bit of a sneaky-Pete in trying to get a licence & maybe avoid taking a test...?
Fwiw I wondered if it was linked to the recent attempt by everybody & their wife to get an Irish passport.?
/Edit.: Didn't realise he's just become a father for the first time.!

Re: Guy Martin in trouble
Well...it says he was trying to obtain a licence, so I'm just assuming he doesn't already have one, or he has had one & has lost his driving privileges at some point.
Maybe??
Maybe??

Re: Guy Martin in trouble
Wasn't there something about him obtaining an Irish racing licence a few years back?

Re: Guy Martin in trouble
Think so. Certainly rings a bell.
The guy gets more press than he warrants....don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but being "quaintly eccentric" only lasts for so long before it starts to wear thin.

Re: Guy Martin in trouble
Reading another article it appears he wanted to add categories to his UK licence from an Irish licence and the DVLA believe he is using a fake Irish licence to do this.
