My kit is with the bikes. If someone is intent on stealing bikes I don’t think gear being there or not will make any difference.

Just ensure your garage is fully secure.

If it has up and over door and you have other access then bolt it from the inside.

Off topic but is that locker for your biking gear? I'm not sure if I should keep my kit in the house or the garage.
No I have a triple wardrobe in the spare bedroom for bike gear. The one in the garage is full of tools and bike parts, so no room (blush)

There is only one access - the up and over door.

Plus it's guarded by an elderly Scottish couple, who never miss a trick. The garage is under their house.

I'm still using locks on the Versys and it's alarmed.

I think I'll wait until we've got all of the furniture we've ordered for the house, then see how much room I've got for biking gear and decide if it stays inside or goes to the garage.

I've got a 1290s Adventure to play with. They offered me a 390 courtesy bike again and I complained :D

Nice bike. Shit loads of grunt. There's oodles of torque, it pulls from any gear. Acceleration is hard and fast but the engine sounds like it's a walk in the park. Fuelling is a little jerky low down and it wasn't the easiest to ride in very heavy traffic on the M6.

It's a tall bike, as Adventure bikes tend to be. The seat is firm, perhaps too firm. Great large display screen which is easy to read and use. The suspension is very plush, it's semi active. I was disappointed there's no fog lights or heated grips on the bike.

I would want to spend a couple of hours on the bike to find out what it's really like. I'm in two minds about it at present, with my current thinking that' it's a raw Multistrada.

Brutal fueling seems to be a KTM trait. I had to remap the 990 to tone down the low snatchy-ness, the 790 was the same in full track mode bit was much more slow speed friendly in street mode.

The 1290r was just fooking stupid in any mode, so I left it in feckwit-mental and dealt with it.

Sounds like a tall version of my GT, the engine really isn't trying but the scenery is blurring fast, or it will potter about at low revs/speed.
The scratchiness low down is down to emissions stuff, easy sorted but I'm leaving mine standard until next year then a pair of O2 eliminator plugs will help.

Driving back this afternoon and found this on my route home, I thought it was some kind of drill or demo from a distance. Someone’s on all the sh*t jobs for the next year.

That's a bit of a monumental mistake.
Someone will have to cop to it.

Pulled it out of the garage and gave it a thorough wash and polish, adjusted the exhaust bracket so the pannier would fit and checked all the levels and pressures.

Ready for tomorrow's run to Portpatrick.

Rode home from Grasmere, 6°C when we set off and the SDGT's heated seat and grips were very nice (devil)

Then washed it and applied ACF-50.
