Must be getting old

Post by duke63 »

Starting to find riding a Sportsbike on the road less fun. Love the 853 on track, it's what it's made for but I think it brings home how hard riding it on the road is becoming.

Got no intention of selling it and would keep it road ready for the occasional blast but I fancy something light, flick able and about 100bhp.

The one bike I would love is a Husqvarna Nuda but they are very rare, not cheap and not sure what spares availability is like. Failing that maybe a 797 Monster.

May be I just need a lottery win so I can give up work and become a full time bike tester.

Get a 675. You can find late ones for under £6k now with low mileage.

There isn't anything really left to do to the 853, Monty and i like to tinker with bikes over the winter.

Plus i don't like the fact i can't see over or round other vehicles very easily when riding it on the road.

And age is catching up with me.

We will see, its not set in stone. Just an idea i am toying with.

Street Triple ;)

Try a 690 Duke too - so much fun.

It's not about how much power you have - you have nothing to prove.

Hell yeah...

Stick a couple of termi's on the side and a few bits of carbon and that is pure porn.

Not as flash as the SF, but have you considered one of these? Around 100 BHP ish and a lot of fun with some decent cans on.

May have overdone the power being a 1098 S...

I keep looking at supermotos recently....... I like it a lot
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

Every test I read says the 848SF is a better bike than the 1098 and should be cheaper to run.

Never say never, Monty. Though I suspect a Hypermotard is a better bike. Again though I think I would choose the Husqvarna if I wanted the supermoto stylee. .

Be careful what you wish for the Hypermotard is a real licence loser. I had a go on Dan’s and was on one wheel after 5 yards. I had to get off after ten minutes as I was going to die!
