I guess the TC and Spin control allows you to maximise the throttle all the time - thats incredible. I'd worry about the tyres on the bike blowing.

Even if they didn't rupture, I expect you're going to be constantly wondering if the tread's still there for the next corner.??C00kiemonster wrote:.... I'd worry about the tyres on the bike blowing.

Re: V4 destroying tyres.
I suspect V4 owners might need to think about looking after their tyres on track, just as a racer would. Make sure they are up to temperature before really going for it. There were a few who appeared to be pinning it from the off. I noticed the CSS V4 bikes only had Rosso Corsa 2s on but they didn't appear to have any tyre issues.
Talking to another guy there yesterday he was saying how many riders appear to be relying on the TC and slide control etc to fire the bikes out of corners. All well and good if you are operating the tyres at the correct temperature and pressure but does the average trackday rider have enough knowledge to do that>

Re: V4 destroying tyres.
I do think some riders are over reliant on rider aids now, last track I did there was a guy on a 1299 Pani sharing the garage with us, came in and you could see the tyre had been spinning from the wear on it, he didn't have a clue, made me realise how good the electronics are on that bike as anything else I get the feeling he would have been looking at a very close view of brands gravel trapsduke63 wrote:I suspect V4 owners might need to think about looking after their tyres on track, just as a racer would. Stick some of these riders on an old TLR and let see how many make it through the first session

Re: V4 destroying tyres.
The R1M has TC and slide control etc but I've not seen anything about them destroying tyres like that , is that extra 200cc and 20 bhp pushing the tyres too far ?

Re: V4 destroying tyres.
I think it's more to do with the torque and the way the engine pulses, Jack.
I used to get distinct pulse wave wear on the SV650 that doesn't happen to the ZX6R tyres
