Bike gear post crash
I have had my helmet in the house and the gloves and boots, the helmet is shagged but did it’s job, the boots are virtually unmarked ( dainese in pro ) , the Richard gloves are not bad either, but I will replace them as the knuckle protection has been ground flat in places.
The leathers obviously took the brunt of it all, mainly the left shoulder which was point of impact, all the protection did its job, this was the first time I had worn them, they are the model with 2 zips up the front which was a godsend when they took them off in the on site hospital, if it had been my usual 1 zip leathers I think they would have had to cut them off.
Overall all the gear did it’s job admirably, you could re use the gloves but I will replace them.

Quality kit doing its job. I've crashed in a Dainese suit and it held up really well.

Re: Bike gear post crash
the best thing about scuffed leathers is that everyone gives you loads of space on the track

Re: Bike gear post crash
Ive seen BSB riders reuse leathers in worse condition than those haha
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

Re: Bike gear post crash
Ah okay.. which corner did it happen at? Most people seemed to crash on Turn 1 (old pit straight start/finish)

Re: Bike gear post crash
What Silverstone call the loop, you have a sharp right hander then a short squirt up to the LH hairpin ( loop ) braking into the hairpin and lost the front.
Still not 100% sure how it happened as I wasn't going fast and didn't do anything different to previous laps ?
Silverstone watched it on the video and they said it was a strange one ?

Re: Bike gear post crash
My impression as well, I found brake cleaner and shoe polish did a great job of tarting my track leathers back up after an off. Btw check the stitching carefully, I needed some redoing.rocket wrote:They don't look to bad at all. Looks mostly cosmetic from the photos

Re: Bike gear post crash
This is exactly why people pick up good quality leathers. Looks like they did their job well just a shame it didnt stop you breaking your bones!
