Sadly they did exactly the same to customers who had bought the RC8 at full price when it came out. The RC8 didn't sell well when it launched so they were still selling 2008 bikes at massive discounts in 2010. KTM had warehouses full of them. At one stage they were knocking out new ones for £8500, I think some people paid 4/5k more for them.

The 1290 is a stunning bike i imagine, but i would want to know when it was manufactured, you may end up with a 3 year old bike if they have used the original R's and converted them to GT. They may of course be new bikes from factory but there must be a catch if they are that price surely?

Ouch. That's now £4 cheaper than a brand new one.

The 390s are certainly 2017 models.

The internet gossip is that there are bikes made in overseas factories which didn't sell.

DMC Birmingham had an allocation of 9 Superduke GTs and sold them all within a week. They've sold over 30 of the 390s

The showroom is packed with bikes waiting to be collected.

The staff told me that the GTs weren't being sold as buyers wanted to wait for the 2018 model as that comes with the Superduke R dash and will be in black. KTM had a load of stock left so made the deal.

No idea about the 390 but the factory pre-registered a load of them and did the deal.

I use my Abba stand every time I want to put the bike up.. I never really trusted the front stand so fell much safer, plus I've got the little tool tray thing. It's brilliant.

I would really like to try the Skylift but there always seems better things to spend money on for the bikes.

I was half tempted by the Superduke GT seeing as it's a bargain.

Online quotes for insurance are coming in at over a grand.

So that's that idea dead in the water.
