No more petrol and diesel cars

Hardly a big deal seeing as most engine makers will have stopped about 10 years before that.

Wonder how much longer our biking fun will last? 10 years? 15?

No idea, but I do think we're fortunate enough to have lived through the best of biking years. Look how far bikes have come in the last 15 years.

2040??

I'll be in my 70's...I seriously doubt I'll care about bikes that much anymore.

I'll be more like "Where's my soup?" and "Who's going to change my diaper...I've just soiled myself for the 17th time!!??"
"I fancy taking up golf!!"

Etc.

Don't worry you will know when its on the news......

"crazy middle aged bastard who hoarded petrol killed in explosion in Royal Tunbridge Wells......

Its thought that Mr King, 54, Had been storing the petrol in all sorts of containers ranging from jerry cans to zip lock bags since late 2017, witnesses stated he had been storing it so that he could continue to ride his antiquated motorcycle. His wife had this to say "he was fcuking idiot, no big loss, just wish he hadn't taken out half the house with the explosion, gunna be a right pain in the arse selling now...."

and they are only talking about banning sales of NEW vehicles that use petrol and diesel.

When people realise how damn boring self driving electric vehicles will be then things may change.

Plus petrol and diesel goes off if you store it :(

I believe that current teenagers and younger generations will have little interest in driving. Insurance costs are high, they don't need cars for independence and they're far too easily distracted.

I know I was joking, plus it may explode long before it goes off! ;)

It could be a good thing but with the current processes of producing electric vehicles being extremely damaging and dirty I don't see how it is any benefit to the environment.

You'll certainly see the number of pedestrian casualties rise!

I think your right. Our kids can drive but can't be bothered about it tbh.

Driving for enjoyment has gone in their eyes.

Autonomous vehicles will be the end of driving anyway. Can you imagine the insurance costs to drive yourself?

We will adapt....just as we adapted to cars/bikes/internal combustion engines, etc....we'll move on to something newer....And we'll be happy to do it. It's why we flourish as a species.

Yes. If people are already getting hit by cars that make noise what hope do they have if the cars create practically no noise - are they going to ask tyre manufactures to make tyres noisy again?

Most noise from approaching vehicles is tyre noise. There's exceptions of course...loud exhausts & whatnot...usually stuff you're not supposed to have on there anyway.
You here a Toyota Prius coming, right??
