Re: What are you doing today ??
Thanks for the heads up. I'll see how much work I need to do tonight and how long this thunder storm lasts.
I might just do a burger and a beer at the bar this evening and go take a look tomorrow.

It's market day in our local town, so went as we do occasionally, only to discover a stall that sells Pork Pies! My life is complete

Re: What are you doing today ??
feck all atm. On my last night shift of the swing and I'm confined to the accommodation module. I've done something to my back and it got gradually worse and worse last night. I woke up this arvo and could barely get out of bed. So they won't let me out on plant. Problem is, sitting down makes it worse and my wandering options are limited inside. Can't just go to bed as I'm sharing a room back to back and he'll be asleep. To make it worse the medic has run out of painkillers and i have the last 6 (now 4) panadeine on the facility. How she let it get to that I don't know. Luckily one of my workmates says he has a stash of codiene tablets in his room so at least i'll be sorted for my helicopter flight tomorrow.
Current sitting on a Swedish ball on the computer in 10 min stints and then doing laps of the accommodation for 10 mins to stop it seizing up.

Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.

Sorry to hear that Kiwi mate. You have been through the wars recently. Hope you heal up quickly and it doesn't spoil your time off back home

There's very little that immobilises us as much as a messed up back. I feel for you Kiwi, on the flip side your own bed is beckoning along with someone to rub it better (your back that is).
Can't believe a medic can let a painkiller stock run down to zip on a single swing, what if there was a major incident? I'd be pretty ticked off if I was his/her Manager.

As it happens the pork pie was freshly made but average at best. 5 euros for a Pork Pie of said quality and size is also a pi$$take tbh, so might not buy too many!Deegee wrote:English mustard req'd not French. Our local Butcher makes his own and flogs them for £2.70 for a normal 1lb size, good flavour, jelly lovely but not too much and proper crispy glazed pastry......
Our local wine isn't up to much though....

Thankfully brexit will stop this sort of shit, like the French trying to make pork pies.C00kiemonster wrote:
