He and the other guy had missed the first session and were on the last of 3 sighting laps.
The instructor entered pit lane as usual after 3 laps.
The guy I hit initially went to go in pits then changed his mind and pulled back onto track.
Then just stopped as I think he thought it was end of session and didn't want to go back round.

There are idiots in every walk of life, trackdays are not exempt by any means.
IMHO the briefings that preceded every event may well have to be attended by everyone, however a large proportion of the audience may hear it but just don't listen. They either have the attitude that "they've heard it all before & already know everything", or they are too hyped up to take any notice.
Just please don't ask me how I would happen to know this.
