Tea here, can't drink coffee after 4pm or I'm awake all night.... On a plus point I was hitting the Tanqueray and Schweppes earlier on this evening.

Re: What are you drinking?
Good work Cookie, I've long thought we need this thread but didn't want to highlight my alcoholism
Just a basic Hendricks & tonic with cucumber at the moment.
But in the interests of expanding my options I bought some Campari and Vermouth Rosso last week to make Negroni's.
Wasted my money, tastes like crap (imo) but Jess liked it.

Re: What are you drinking?
Vermouth is the devil's apprentice....it's so dry you just want to drink more & more of it...which I guess is the whole bloody point. A couple of glasses of that and you'll be in Toxic City in no time.
Lemonade, at the moment. Delicious.

Re: What are you drinking?
I tried to isolate what I didn't like about the Negroni's by trying the Campari and vermouth separately. It was both, either one ruinings a perfectly good gin as far as my taste buds are concerned.
I'm if nothing, I'm thorough.

Re: What are you drinking?
Gin tastes like you're drinking a bottle of perfume.
But seeing as the OZ drink of choice is Fosters, it's pretty safe to say that in technical terms, the Aussies are a bunch of abecedarians anyway.

Yes we do and we pay for the pleasure, and no it doesn't taste like perfume, well at least not the stuff I drink - it smells and probably tastes nicer than most of the fetid offerings the painted ladies on the perfume counters are pushing anyway.....Kwacky wrote:No.duke63 wrote:Do men drink gin?

Re: What are you drinking?
I read up on the art of making a good Negroni and found I needed a strong gin with a decent amount of citrus in the flavour profile, plus the Vermouth was key.kiwikrasher wrote:I tried to isolate what I didn't like about the Negroni's by trying the Campari and vermouth separately. I've settled on Antica Carpano which is a bit vanilla-ish if you use too much, but gives a nicely balanced flavour if you change the proportions and up the gin content. Sadly I'm on my own in my house as far as Negronis go, so don't have a second opinion, but it works for me!

Re: What are you drinking?
Gin is grain based vodka infused with flavour from bits of tree, sounds like a mans drink to me.
And as another thread attests to, a portition of you are too scared to even come to Aussie, so you girls sit there safe in the U.K. and sip your cups of tea
Deegee, Tony B & Monty, door is always open
