Elections

Post by Kwacky »

Is everyone going to be a good citizen and vote in the forthcoming local and European elections?

Labour were going door to door last night in my street. The guy who lives opposite me spent about 20 minutes ranting as he's a life long labour man but he's had enough.

The Tories appear to have stolen most of UKIPs ideas.

LibDems are lost at sea.

I have no idea who to vote for.

Doesn't matter who you vote for, they're all as useless as each other IMO!! (swear) (headbang) (deadhorse)

I'll do my civic duty and vote. This is probably going to cop me some stick seeing as this is a motorbike forum full of hydrocarbon sniffing petrolheads (and god knows I'm one as well!), but I'll be voting Green. I can't find any reason to vote for the mainstream parties and I loathe UKIP/BNP etc. so they're pretty much all I'm left with!

doubt i will, as I dont know enough about any of them to make an informed decision. And I'm not going to vote for a party for the sack of it, or because it's who I think I should be backing.

I could look up about them, but I am too thick to read between the lines.

I will be voting. I live here and pay enough so I want my voice heard. Looks to me like UKIP are really gunning for it. Seem to be a fair few signs propped up up and down the country!
Labour have no chance! Tories are doing their best - I usually vote for them. Tied choice for me between 2 of the parties!

Like others I refuse to let my vote be wasted, it took too much effort to get it for me to waste it imho. However, Labour are inept and unelectable, LibDems are paper tigers, Tories are interested in making themselves and their pals richer, the Greens were responsible for the Brighton Speed Trials nearly getting banned, Ukip appear to be a rebadged National Front.

Have to say none of them look appealing, anyway it doesn't matter who you vote for, it's always a politician that gets in...

I shall be spoiling my ballot paper. :D

Just out of interest but why are UKIP standing when their only policy is not to have any say in the EU and leave?

For the same reason as the other Politicians.: Money & power..?

I'm wasting my vote on Green Party (despite how hypercritical that makes me Deegee) for much the same reasons as BM.

But you can't vote in the EU parliament to leave the EU....as far as I am aware. Surely that decision is taking within the UK and the government then negotiates with the EU to leave?

Ukip MEPs seem quite happy to take EU money to pay for their political party..

Having looked at it I'm going Green for the Euro. They do appear to be the only party interested in what goes on and I like their stand against the involvement of US companies.

I'm going Green for the Euro. Was quite impressed with Caroline Lucas on question time.
