Holidays

Post by D6Nutz »

I'm shipping out of this hell hole for a week to go and find some sun and hopefully a bit of relaxation. Hopefully I'll be spending a lot of time somewhere like this, preferably with a Pironi (or similar) in hand..

I will be checking in from time to time to make sure you lot aren't breaking my server ;)

Just checking in to make sure kwacky hasn't broken anything.

It's bliss here, 6pm and it's still about 20 degrees. So obviously I'm sat on the terrace enjoying a cold beer. :)

I went to Sardinia once with RAF in the early 80's, stayed at a NATO base called Decimomanou, we landed in a C130 Hercules, the pilot opened the rear ramp as we were taxiing down the runway and we were met with a heady aroma of citrus fruit from the orange groves just over the perimeter fence and aviation fuel from the Hercs engines, later that day I had to a local driving test with an old 39 str coach through the mean streets of Cagliari, that was an eye opener, apparently every Sardo driver believed if they were hit by a NATO vehicle they would be entitled to a brand new car so it was a bit like whacky races. A map in the MT section had a red line all round the southern coast going up to round half way up the island straight across then back south again, stay within the red lines and we were safe head north of them and we were liable to be kidnapped for ransom ! in the two weeks in Sardinia we had one guy deported, two guys shot at by the Italian military police whilst actually on the camp itself and I got a good tan just sitting next to the Sqn lines waiting to get a call to go and do something whilst watching the F4 Phantoms, F15 Eagles and F16 Falcons of the RAF and the USAF, happy days, would love to go back one day, hope youre having a wicked time :)
