Ebay and Ordering from overseas

Post by Kwacky »

I've just ordered a tank protector from Portugal via ebay. it was on offer so I thought I would give it a go to see what happens.

Postage has been listed at £5.00. The goods were listed at £22.80. The total price paid was £33.36. Estimated date for arrival 24 Feb. Originally it said it could be with me by this Saturday, so I presume that the expected delivery date changed once it clocked I'm in the UK.

I have noticed since the start of this year that there's more offers being made by sellers of products. I never used to get it before, I've had 3 so far this year on watched items.

I don't want this to be a political thread, there's a Brexit thread for that. I just want to post my experiences of ordering stuff from the EU, using eBay, the costs and the time scales. I thought it would be useful to share experiences, hints and tips.

I rarely buy from eBay but certain items I'm ordering for work are seeing double or triple the lead times currently.
