I know exactly how you felt. As soon as was coherent enough to realise I was awake I had to wiggle my toes and fingers to be sure they hadn’t stuffed up my spinal cord.

Cheers bud.... So today is one full week since I went in, I was hoping to be back to work this week, underestimated the recovery time and the feeling when on the pills. I have reduced the pain killers again, taking full 6 hrs between them and only having one each time. Otherwise I am in a very bad place, feeling shit. I am positive that by the end of the week I will be feeling more like my old self. Looking forward to getting back out for my walks again.... Until then, good old 70's and 80's TV is keeping me straight. I seem to be snoozing a lot though! ha ha, grateful for rewindable TV...
My poor bike has not turned a wheel for weeks and weeks.... Its going to be a wobbly ride when I do get out

Keep pushing dude - it's a mental battle as well as physical at this point.
What pain killers are you on? IMO your right to try and reduce them as much as poss and then get off them - can be part of the problem as well as the solution
Shame you're not where you hoped to be but glad you're in positive spirits and heading in the right direction.
Naproxen is a brilliant NSAID but it's one that I tend to take in 3 day bursts once the inflammation itself is causing me pain. Until that point I let my body do what it's designed to do.
Co-codamol on the other hand gives me migraines which kinda sucks so my choices are paracetamol or tramadol.
I'm sure you'll get back on the bike and pull a massive wheelie anyway so don't stress!

I try not to take drugs as much as I can, it has to be bad to take any. I think my body had enough in my youth lol.....
Naproxen got me to a point of not being able to think straight - if i do need it i limit it to a few days now, but i havent needed it in a couple of years. Co-codamol makes Mrs C puke (a lot) so she cant take that.
Metronidazole is used to treat bacterial infections of the vagina...... erm..
Your sensible to limit the two pain killers to what pain you can tolerate as far as im concerned and get off them slowly and steadily.
I hated the prescription pain meds they had me on, Targin and Endone. The combination was making me vomit continuously and dizzy. They swapped the endone for Palexia but still wasn’t the best. Dropped to just Targin by Day 3 and preferred to handle a bit of pain compared to the previous side effects.
10 days post surgery and at home I stopped all prescription medication for something more natural Which worked great, though also caused a lot of couch naps

Yes as soon as the course of meds run out I will be happy to leave alone. I spent a lot of time building up strength before op, and doing lots of natural stuff. main area is the breathing which works really well.
