£500 Boris bonus

Post by duke63 »

On the grapevine, every adult in the UK will be given £500 to spend in the shops to kickstart the High St.

So what will you spend yours on? :D

Can you imagine the outrage from the Tory rags if Corbin was doing it?

Boris will go down in history as the bankrupting PM.

Does a bike shop count as high street? Service and a pair of tyres on BoJo would be nice 8)

Daft idea imho. To create the effect this is intended to have, a temporary reduction in VAT would be a far better move for many reasons.

I'll splash my handout on groceries that I would have brought anyway, that'll undermine their gimick.

I can foresee inflation in double figures and the economy in recession/depression by the end of next winter, the worst combination of all.
