Black Lives Matter

Post by Cav »

The new place for the riots talk which will inevitably ensue.

Besides the name, I stand behind the message, it's clear there's a race (and privilege/white supremacy) issue in America and it needs to change. I do not understand why Trump decided to fight fire with fire and bring in the military despite his prior words of understanding and empathy.

More Police are dying, more civilians are dying and he's only making it worse IMO. He needs to listen to them and clearly instigate positive change. It's the playground bully scenario again.

The slogan is "black lives matter".

It's not "only black lives matter".

It's not "black lives matter more".

The reason why it's black lives matter is because for too long they haven't. Black lives matter isn't pro black. It's pro equality. It's asking to be heard. It's asking to be treated the same as everyone else.

The mayor of LA, a guy named Eric Garcetti, called in The National Guard, not Trump.
He'll have done it after consulting with the chiefs of LAPD & LAFD, I'm sure.

.....because Trump threatened them by saying it was their problem.

This will be Britain soon, IMHO.

Well...what he said was along the lines of "If you don't call in your National Guard units, I'll put full-time soldiers on the streets"....which is the last thing anyone wants.

So you're defending Trump but then saying that the person who did it was actually forced into it by Trump? (facepalm)

I'm not defending anyone, I'm simply stating the facts as I understand them.

I really don't see any positive changes or attitudes under Trumps administration. The guy probably used to walk around with pillow cases on his head.

Once any leader puts soldiers on the streets they have lost control and any credibility.

I understand why there are protests I could understand if City Hall and the PD HQ was burnt to the ground what I don't understand is the looting .

People will always be dicks. I've seen a guy get his head kicked in. Turns out he charged protestors with a sword. Another guy drove to the protests to open fire with a bow and arrow. Police officers have been caught smashing windows. A right wing group pretended to be Antifa to post about starting riots.

Dont be distracted by those who use these events to commit crimes

Yep. Opportunists & idealists.
And I'm sure there's a bit of crossover in between the two groups.
After all, nothing says "Black Lives Matter" like a newly liberated Blaupunkt stereo...
