You are obviously not going hard enough.. I used to come in off a 20 min session wrecked and occasionally cut a session short due to feeling fatigued.

That's not the case. If I was to cut a session short it's because mentally I'm done & starting to make mistakes. Physically I'm usually okay until late in the afternoon & starting to worry about the drive home.

Isn't that always the case though?? "Oh, you're not pushing hard enough!"

Added some tech to my shed this week.

Picked up a smart turbo trainer. The auto resistance is an arse, it's way too realistic. Went up box hill on my first ride with it, utter sweat fest.

New bar tape, wrapping is a bitch.

I'm getting used to this cycling thing, quite comfortable knocking out 20-30 mile rides round the 16-17mph mark. Still crap at hills, but getting better.

That's not a bad average at all. With the mileage you're putting in, say 20-40 miles or so, you should be in the 15+ to maybe 20mph range...and 20mph is a stretch.

Nearly 3 months (I think) later and I finally receive my CycleScheme certificate!!! Woohoo!

So I pop on the web to order my basket and guess what.. the bike is out of fecking stock! So mad right now. It gives you an option to pre order though which is great, except it won't let you pre order because they are out of stock! So STUPID!

A lot of guys on one of the Facebook groups I'm on are saying most of the popular bikes are out of stock until 2021 now.

Is it worth finding a local bike shop or two and seeing what they've got in stock..

I've done 50 on this one, and for the bike it was a breeze, fit the rider not so much.

I'm training for a marathon in September, after that the goal is the century..

It's frustrating.. I've been wanting a bike for 3 years and now I'm finally in the position to do it everyone else is buying one. Hopefully it will happen eventually.

Great work, Nutz! I'm planning on doing some charity bike rides and maybe a sportif or 2. Mostly, it's to get my fitness back and to rehab my knee if I ever get a surgery date

Quite the opposite, it's allowed me to focus on my diet a bit more and up the exercise without getting in the way of life. I've a actually lost weight, not that you'd know it to look at me, I'm still a fat fecker.
