I do think its part of the asnwer but I don't think home working is quite the easy answer most people think. For one thing, homeworkers will be heating their house all day throughout the winter months, not a cheap thing to do. Computers on all day as well. Taking on new staff and getting them to learn a new job when sat on their own will not be easy either.

We are, as humans, social creatures, and need personal interaction with each other. Sat at home all day all the time would not be good for our mental health.

There's studies which show workers are less productive at home. I can vouch for that :D

I can certainly vouch for that when a recent laptop rebuild renders VPN unusable meaning I can't access a network license for CAD nor the appraisal system and the only person able to rectify it doesn't respond.

I'm currently in the workshop installing peg boards and answering emails when they come in.

The opposite is true hear but equally still a problem.

My wife has never been busier since working from home. She does many more hours over and above what she gets paid for (swear)

I remember when lockdown started and I was listening to the radio whilst washing the car.

Local DJ asked, what do people do when they work from home. One bloke phoned in and said he had rattled his wife all afternoon. He then went on to say he had worked out he had been paid 95 sheets to rattle her (giggle) Respect (rock)

Well done to the UK for having the biggest GDP drop this year, a massive 20.4%

Almost 50% higher than the next worst.

And the record number of deaths in Europe.

Makes ya proud

I'm an optimist, but this is going to bite the UK hard by the end of the year onwards sadly.

In optimistic news....

Predictions on the new massive post brexit trade deals with with US and Japan will yield a 0.16% and less than 0.1% increase to GDP respectively. The lack of trade deal with the EU is only expected to reduce GDP by 7% over 15 years.

Oh, wait, optimistic.... Ah, yeah, ****!

Boris record to date:

Biggest rise in unemployment for decades.
Biggest fall in GDP since records began.
Highest number of excess deaths since records began.
About to give up free trade with the UKs biggest trading partner.

The man has zero leadership skills.
