I belive a lot of the flights incoming to the UK are repatriation flights.

Personally the only planes I ve seen flying into Manchester are a few military flights (RAF Globemaster, Chinnock and Red Arrows), domestic flights or a big daily PIA flight from Lahore.

We've been going for walks up the hill and if we see flights coming in, then checking them out on flight radar as my lads into aviation.

Looks like the shit is already starting to hit the fan. Shows how little they really value NHS staff but still give them a round of applause on a Thursday and its all OK.

Panorama also investigated changes to the government guidance on what PPE NHS staff should wear.

In January this year, Covid-19 was officially designated a High Consequence Infectious Disease (HCID). The decision was made in consultation with a group of British experts.

A Health and Safety Executive evaluation of PPE published in 2019 had already recommended that all healthcare workers should wear a gown, FFP3 respirator mask and visor when dealing with HCIDs.

Those recommendations were in line with existing UK guidance.

But on 13 March this year, the government downgraded its guidance on PPE and told NHS staff they were safe to wear less protective aprons and basic surgical masks in all but the most high risk circumstances.

Panorama understands that on the same day, the government took steps to remove Covid-19 from the list of HCIDs.

But the experts who had recommended the coronavirus be put on the list in the first place were not consulted. Instead, the government asked its Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens (ACDP).

The Telegraph reports on unease within the Conservative Party at the government's handling of the crisis.


According to the paper, one former minister compared the performance to a Morecambe and Wise sketch - where all the notes were played - but not necessarily in the right order.

The unnamed MP cited the new 14-day quarantine period which they said should have happened at the beginning of the crisis, not the end.

The Telegraph also says that Tory WhatsApp groups have become "increasingly critical". One source, said there was growing frustration at what was described as Downing Street's "control freakery".

Given that most of my FB news feed was Labour during the election and no most of my feed is celebrating Boris, based off the 500 or so people on my feed he has won over a lot of people.

Yes but he is nowhere to be seen. A Country in the depth of the biggest crisis since WW2 and he has gone missing. Not up to the job. He is being delibarately kept of the the limelight as a bumbling bufoon is the last person anyone wants to see in charge in a crisis.

Two things will finish him of IMHO.

1. Notice the number of job losses being announced this morning. Johnson's piolicies will no longer be relevant and with Brexit looming, Britain could have a double whammy to devastate the economy. There will be a lot of Tory businessmen losing a lot of money at the moment.
2. Never forget Thatcher had god-like status within the Party (and still does) but when she became a liability, the powers that be within her Party soon ousted her.

Not defending Boris but are the job losses not the result of cv19 and the subsequent shrinking economy.

I struggle to see how any goverment would stop job losses at the moment and you have to credit the goverment for furlough as without that there would be many, many more job losses.
