Oh and yes you will have to pay the government much sooner to replace your existing passport as the previous travel arrangements are now void and you will need at least 6 months on your passport to visit anywhere in Europe.

At the last minute Tory MP Julian Lewis stepped forward. He won the vote 5-4. He's had the Tory whip taken from him.

The Intelligence Committee will be responsible for releasing the Russia Report.

I agree it's sinister but I kind of agree with the premise. It seems like everyone goes to University these days with an unsatisfactory percentage going on to use their degree in their subsequent profession. I was told that I would be a failure if I didn't go to University at my school. I felt like a failure when I dropped out of A-levels and went to college instead.

I just remember feeling an inordinate amount of pressure to make life-altering decisions at an age when I'm not allowed to decide whether I can safely smoke a cigarette or not....& other stuff like that.

You did the right thing no doubt. We actually tried to put our girls off university (even though we both went) unless they had a valid career path afterwards. To be honest one should have gone (the both did) - the other one well i don't think it would have made any difference to her job and progression - she just has a load of student debt now.

The government has just passed a law to allow people to put an additional two stories on their house without the usual planning permission. It only applies to detached properties at the moment. So that means there's going to be a lot of pissed off NIMBYs

The other new law makes it easier to convert commercial properties so they can used as domestic properties.

I like the second idea. I imagine that's been pushed through by commercial property owners and investors. The way we work is changing. A couple of my mates are in commercial property and they were shitting themselves about home working. Big rent showcase offices will start to disappear. We'll see more companies offering office space on a daily basis for meetings etc.

The company my wife works for is very forward thinking. They were looking at smaller offices and doing home working trails before lockdown.

Ironically lockdown has put alot of that on hold.

Hopefully industry as a whole will take some valuable lessons from lockdown as there are gains to be made in changing how we work.

We were in the process of going digital only - so no paper files. Our head office had already done it and we had just started. Last year we were being pushed towards home working ahead of going digital.

We've now got all of our incoming post going to a central postal address for scanning. The post is then put on your file and you get an email letting you know.

A company I worked for 12 years ago had an entire team working from home. Anything they printed when to a central printing office for admin staff to deal with. It was very efficient. It also avoided a lot of data protection issues.

The downside is going to be felt by those companies who rely on office workers. The coffee shops and sandwich makers. Stationary suppliers will also feel the effect as the demand for paper dramatically decreases.

The upsides should be reduced traffic and everything related to that.
