I need to devise a way of remembering each role I'm getting interviews or feedback from. I just spent 2 minutes trying to work out which role I was talking to someone about on the phone, thankfully they didn't notice but still!

Interview planned for Tuesday next week, waiting to hear back from another one I spoke about this morning too. Still waiting to hear about the ultimate job and if I get a 3rd interview. Still waiting for the offers I've been told are coming my way too.

So far I've been interviewing/waiting for offers on:
Applications Engineer
Design Engineer
Mechanical Engineer
Development Engineer
CAD Designer
Project Engineer

One that was left wing is a Product Manager role. I was approached for it and I've been called an "interesting match" for this one but I personally think I'm not a direct match. If I stuck with Design that would be my future target.

I feel a "which role should I take" thread coming on soon but hey, it's a nice problem to have!

If you are fortunate enough to have a selection of those roles all offered to you, shouldn't the decision be (fairly) straightforward.?
Due to the fact that, at this early stage in your careerer, whatever route you go down I would expect will probably dictate your future direction to a larger extent.
Therefore your choice should be based upon which of the roles you can see yourself as being most fulfilled by over the next decade or two.
Perhaps factor AI into ^ that calculation though.?

Multiple roles I'm going for have very good future prospects. Some are more clear than others, though.

There's the one stand out role, then the remaining majority are pretty equal. If I don't get the one I really want then it may be a tough choice.

Relocation isn't an option for me but I'm happy to do a long commute if it's a £17k+ pay rise which 2 of these roles are. They also come with a car so that's one big stress off my chest.

Interview tomorrow is for one based in NE Brum (near Pype Hayes Park) but it comes with the car and is half office, half at customers. Typical customers are UK automotive. They also have a warehouse less than 1 mile from my door which is where I'm having the interview.

I would be very wary about getting into UK automotive right now. They may well be all gone in 18 months time.

Cheers for the heads up guys. I'll see what they're all about to be honest. Also, this company has been going for over 100 years so I don't doubt they'll survive. Don't know what my role would be specifically, can't imagine it's just a few automotive manufactures. I'll find out in a couple of hours.

That interview went great. They seem like a company with a lot of opportunities and once again, the interviewers liked me. My only concern with them is their reliance on automotive. I think I can expand massively within their business. I just need to wait and see what all my offers look like.

Despite my posting, bear in mind it’s better than no job and the experience and learning would be brilliant on any future CV.

My favourite role just got back to me with an "unsuccessful". Gutted to be honest but at least there are a few other interesting roles in the pipeline.

It's disappointing now but these things tend to work themselves out. You might find yourself there in 10 years time with more experience and in a senior role.

As you progress, you learn to not get your hopes up until the ink is dry on a contract frankly.

Cav don't let it get you down, it is one of those things. Everything happens for a reason and that wasn't your calling at this moment in time

I'm struggling to prep for tomorrow's interview.. as in I can't be bothered. It's oil and gas in a very intense role but one that would be great for learning a company, processes and there are so many roles like this available, all at good pay. I'm just not feeling excited about it.

I will persevere and do a good job because I might meet the people and absolutely love the sound of this place and role.

Best not to have too many preconceptions, Cav. You could have what you considered to be the best job in the world but if you were working with a bunch of arseholes then you wouldn’t enjoy it.
