Work has been slowly breaking me over the last few months. I finally got to see the head of my department and she could see I was all over the place. They've cut my target in half but the work is still there to be done. I've asked for clarification about my future but I've not had a reply yet.

I didn't want to look for another job but it's starting to appear that's my only option.

It seems you've tried your best over the last couple of years to make it work there, so maybe a move is the best thing now. I have no real understanding of your industry, so i just hope a jump doesn't land you in the same situation in a different place.

fingers crossed you can improve your work life mate (bear)

Had my first official offer..

They've offered more than advertised and the role is 15 minutes from my door. The numbers are definitely adding up for this.

The role is certainly something I'm interested in but it isn't my number 1. I wouldn't be disappointed to do this role if my number 1 didn't come good.

Chasing up my first choice and to be honest, I'm not too fussed on the others. Some of them have been really crap in getting back to me. Sometimes its the recruiter and sometimes the recruiter can't get hold of the company.

Going to look back through my list of email and applications etc and see which ones I want to chase.

I have a 2nd interview in an hour and they need to offer me something within an hour if they want to secure me. They knowing have an offer expiring this morning which I will be taking if they don't make an offer.

Whatever happens.. I am going to be employed again this afternoon (whew)

Well the 2nd interview went very well. The director just needs to "dot the 'I's and cross the 'T's" and I will hear from them later today.

No I have to just deal with holding off the recruiter for the other role for the remainder of the day.

I feel like a bit of an arse pushing him back but obviously he has incentive to keep pushing me because he gets commission.

I didn't get quizzed on money so I presume they are also happy to offer a strong amount.

Now I have to sit patiently and wait. I might go put the chain back on my bike...

And we have a WINNER !!

The 2nd interview this morning turned a dead end. The reason they were delaying the offer is because they were contractually obliged to offer the role to an internal candidate first who was dragging their heels. They eventually accepted the role this morning following pressure off the back of the interview.

I am now going to be working for a huge company with massive benefits 15 minutes from my door. It's still an interesting role but with plenty of potential. It is going to increase my desirability on paper too.

Just waiting for paperwork and a confirmed start date but I will be a Manufacturing Engineer in a few weeks.

Thanks all :)
