I think good on him. He proved a point. Equality is equality. Seems counter productive to have a campaign to highlight inequality (of wages) but then treating people with inequality (on purchase price).

The guy had a point, you can’t have one price or price list for blokes and another for women, were it the other way round it’d likely have resulted in a public prosecution not a private one.

That said, it’s gotten both Brewdog and the Equality gap issue a lot of column inches and clicks at the cost of a rather petty and laughable court case, all for £1000 and costs. I’d say that’s canny advertising if I were a teeny bit cynical.

Like a lot of stereotypes, gin being labeled as a "woman's drink" is no different, and there's some historical basis behind it...."back-in-the-day"...18th & 19th century, while men had their own ale-houses to frequent, women had dram houses, gin houses, etc....mostly staffed by women, sold by women - to women, etc.....hence the nickname "Mother's Ruin", as there's been speculation that their kids were breastfed gin-tainted milk....thereby ensuring a whole new generation of customers later on down the line.
It's also the reason that gin was originally perfumed, in order to increase it's appeal to the fairer sex.
