It seems like the Tories have planted some money trees that are already bearing fruit.

Does anyone believe anything these twats say anymore? They should be held responsible to telling lies to buy votes.

That doesn't make the lies any less dishonest

Nor does it lend any justification for the other side to do the same thing....but we both know that is exactly what will happen.

Corbyn will be PM by Xmas. And the Tories will only have themselves to blame. I don't think they will survive this.

It will be by default but there are plenty of Tory MPs prepared to bring Johnson down if needs be.

John Major has said this morning he is prepared to take him to Court to prevent him proroguing Parliament. If that happened and Major won then Johnson and that Parliament is finished.

I'm with Jack on this one.

Labour haven't helped themselves flip flopping on Brexit.

Johnson last night was all over the place. He's not got a clue. But people don't care. Abbott gets her figures mixed up about the cost of policing, or drinks a mixed alcohol drink on public transport and she's hounded for it. Johnson gets the Brexit no deal cost wrong, lies about the £39 billion exit fee (we've already paid some of it FFS) and the WTO rules wrong and no one cares.

There's a lot of utterly misleading bollocks about Labour's “supposed” change of position on Brexit, but if you actually read what they released it's simply a reiteration of their existing policy position from conference 2018.

As it stands, Labour still opposes a no deal Brexit meltdown and will do everything in their power to oppose it. In the highly unlikely event a referendum is called with the Tories still in power, they'll campaign for remain just like in 2016.

Labour still opposes Theresa May's unwanted (by literally everyone) withdrawal deal. And they'll oppose any efforts to bring this back from the dead.

Labour still intends to try and win a General Election, in which case they will seek to renegotiate with the EU and see if there's some kind of achievable "soft Brexit" compromise (Customs Union, Single Market, Protected workers rights, cooperation on science, environment, and security).

Labour still insists that there should be a confirmatory referendum on any form of Brexit before it goes ahead (on the basis that whatever form it takes will be substantially different from what the Brexiteers promised it would be three years ago).

Of course it doesn't satisfy militant Brexiteers who just want Brexit and don't give a **** about what form it takes, nor how much damage it would do to the British economy and British jobs.

And of course it doesn't satisfy the hardcore Remainers who want Labour only to represent the people who voted Remain, and **** everybody else. The vast majority of these partisans are not even being honest about what it means.

Meanwhile **** loads of Remain Ultras insist on acting out the pantomime again that it's "oh so difficult to even understand", and "why oh why won't Labour just go full Remain?" Doubtless it won't be long before the "when will Labour support another referendum?" crowd return, to simply ignore the fact Labour already does support that and voted for it three times in parliament (one of the times it was voted down by the Lib-Dems!).

The truth is that it's not a policy that's aimed at appealing to the noisy **** at either end of the spectrum. It's aimed at finding some kind of rational centre ground, rather than divisively picking a side and actively pushing for an all-or-nothing clash of civilisations gamble in which one side is absolutely guaranteed to lose everything with unknowable repercussions for the nation.

I know a lot of people don't like it, I don't like it much either. But the Tories have created such a **** Brexit mess that there is no easy fix all solution. And anyone who says there is a super-simple solution to the worst diplomatic shit storm this country has ever got itself into is simply lying through their teeth.

Unfortunately politics is becoming/has become a popularity contest for characters and Corbyn is a character most people just do not find palatable .
Johnson although perceived by many as a fool is seen as a slightly eccentric floppy haired disheveled peculiarly British type of fool which is much more acceptable to the great unwashed than Corbyns perceived hard left commie terrorist loving persona .
