In his defence it's not up to the public to vote for the leader of the conservative party so these TV debates don't really offer much.

I do like Rory Stewart but I fear he's not right wing enough for thehe Tory party to support him.

Interestingly there was a perceptible message from most of the candidates that Labour were "the enemy", I suspect to detract attention from the centre ground party (which recent evidence suggests may be more of a threat to their share of the vote).??

He's a trained negotiator, and a pragmatist.
The fact that he is positioning himself as someone who will "try to sort this mess out in the best interests of the country" I expect will be enough for the resolute Brexiteers to remove him from the equation at the very earliest opportunity.

I'd like to see Rory win if only to see some reasonable debate return to PMQs, but he won't. At best, if he gets into the top two with Bojo he will broaden the debate during the leadership election.

I'm afraid Bojo the clown has already won so it's no deal BREXIT or a general election.

Three weeks ago I would have jumped at the chance of a general election, now I'm not so sure.

So here's where I stand.

I voted remain. I mildly prefer Labour to the Conservatives. Theresa May was brilliant at stalling. Now is 100% NOT the right time for a General Election and I just wish for someone to step up to the mark and get a half decent deal for the country at this point. I don't care who that person is and I don't care what party they're in. I just want it to be done and for us to get the best deal possible (whether that's a deal or no deal it doesn't matter).

If the country we live in can keep hold of jobs and avoid all these factory closures and subsequent addition to poverty then I am happy. In that grand scheme of things, this is what the country needs most now.
