A lucky diner was accidentally served a £4,500 bottle of red wine at a restaurant.
Hawksmoor Manchester said on Twitter it hoped the customer had enjoyed their evening after being given the pricey 2001 bottle of Chateau le Pin Pomerol.
The restaurant advised the member of staff who made the error to keep their "chin up."
In a tweet it quipped that "one-off mistakes happen" and "we love you anyway".
I wonder if this really happened or if it's a marketing gimmick?
Nice upgrade

I don't get the mentality behind drinking something so expensive that two hours later you're flushing away.
As an investment, that's a different story.

I’m the same. I bought my mates 1st release whisky but I’ll never drink it. 2nd release comes out soon and will be much cheaper so i’ll drink that.D41 wrote:I don't get the mentality behind drinking something so expensive that two hours later you're flushing away.

He just got 80% of his distillery business bought out by Halewods (UK company) and the estimated value of his first release has doubled.
