Weekend Plans

Post by Kwacky »

Anyone up to anything?

Quiet one tonight.

Tomorrow my wife is working so Dad taxi. I need to see a man about some spiders and spider enclosures. On the evening I'm off to a new brewery which has opened up just around the corner from where I used to live. We're catching up with some mates as well.

Sunday off to a mate's mum's party for her 75th.

Well that was crap timing! (lol)

Just got back from a Little Athletics which is my standard Friday night now when I have the kids

Tomorrow heading down the coast with the camper to Jess’ Aunt & Uncles for a shingdig, taking the camper so I don’t have to drive back that night which would require me to stay sober.

Sunday will be driving back and packing the kids back off to the ex.

The old area has turned into a boozers paradise. Loads of micro breweries and pop up pubs are opening up.

It's probably for the best that I moved :D

Saturday - a bit of work. Then later on will be welcoming my replacement out here.

Sunday - Working. But I won't care, because I'll also be showing my replacement around the place and telling him all the shortcu... I mean showing him how to do all work to the letter of the law! (bandit)

Finish the concrete for the workshop floor
Lay what block work we can
Finish the brick wall on the exterior of the garden.

I also want to get out on a walk with the puppy and/or camera

Tonight looking after the Mrs who had a job interview today and found it pretty stressful

Tomorrow Mrs Troll is out so Im having a Daddy Troll/Mini Troll day - im thinking all the pillows might be coming off the sofas to build him an obstacle course

Sunday we don't have much planned yet, desperately need to give the bike some TLC so try and do that, enjoy the last non busy weekend before the build up to xmas and all the things Mrs Troll has booked us in for.

Hope Mrs trolls interview went well.

My plans for the weekend mainly include doing feck all, or as close to as I can get away with.

Only things planned are a fry up at the garden centre tomorrow (better than it sounds) and possibly a run on Sunday.

cheers guys, she found out this morning she didn't get it, just pipped to the post but another internal candidate, but they told her it wont be long until she gets a position above, she's naturally disappointed but it was all good feedback so I told he to be proud and look at the positives that from the sounds of it she is next in line.

Like you say, it's never nice to be told you've not got a job you went for but it sounds like her time will come.

3.5 courses of blocks and another 2.5 courses of bricks laid this weekend... 2 more days of work and the workshop should be ready for a roof.

Target of a weather-tight (but not finished) workshop by Christmas looks achievable

I don't really have a good photo of it as it stands now (took one at 6am just to show the office).

I'll be posting a new thread in the next few weeks though once this stage is completed :)

Yes I'm doing the bricklaying myself (with the aid of my my future father-in-law). We'll be doing everything ourselves including: brick & block laying, roofing, window and door fitting, gate making and fitting.

The long term plan won't be completed til mid-2019 due to funds but it will be a weather-tight workshop/mancave/bikeshed by Christmas all being well :)

(y)

Fwiw I quite enjoy a bit of brick (or block) laying. Therapeutic & satisfying.

I'll try not to take exception to the fact that you'll happily show your work colleagues your progress, but not us. ;)

Impressive. Especially amongst your generation. Very rewarding indeed. I do like a bit of wall building.

I'm building my mancave at the moment - no pics until it's finished 8)
