Jaguar Land Rover

It's starting to look a bit grim for the UK factories.

Production has been down to 3 days a week for a while at the Castle Brom site, now Solihull is shutting for 2 weeks.

With the downturn in trade and the new EU funded factory opening soon I can't see JLR remaining in the UK for much longer.

I see Dyson are going to make electric cars, which i would suggest they will be good at.

They have chosen Singapore to build the factory mind - the UK is too expensive to make things sadly.

I'm considering a new car at the moment - could be a cheap Land Rover!

I have clients who have worked in JLR Castle Bromwich until a few weeks ago and they say it appears its slowly being wound down.

The last straw for them was being asked to do a weekend job which required subcontractors and equipment hire only to be told on Friday afternoon it was no longer necessary and JLR would not cover any costs.

Perkles was saying last week that he doesn't know any supplier who has sold to JLR recently.
