How do families cope with this?

Post by duke63 »

I have no idea.

Got some grit in my eye. She is very....not brave...its not the right word...but you know what i mean. Amazing strength in the face of impossible circumstances.

It's a hard read but I've been keeping up on twitter and the news.

Life can be cruel.

I think she's being very practical to be honest, and showing a good amount of foresight. Women, especially mothers, can do that in ways that men can only dream about. They're just wired that way.

We can't any of us know just how we would cope with that sort of situation, but I guess it would be rather pointless to "rage against it".?
How she reacts & copes, will fundamentally effect how she is remembered after she has gone. Far better therefore to maintain as high a level of integrity as she can muster, for as long as she is able.?
Having said that Duke, I also find that her indicated response strikes a chord. It's suddenly a bit dusty here too mate.

She has used her last months, weeks and days to amazing effect. I'm sure many of us would not be so strong. I hope its now quick and relatively pain free. ;(

Life is very precious, though many dont seem to realise it.

How we face death is at least as important as how we face life, don't you think??

I have no idea how you approach this, my Wife has picked up the pieces in the classroom (Y6) twice from Mothers dying, one was Cancer and one was a family friend who took her own life. Both children were devastated and school was their only normality, but not unexpectedly they were prone to falling apart at any time, the Dads were no different. Cancer is a horrible cruel disease that takes some of our brightest and best and seems to leave the dross untouched.

She passed away this morning.

I hope her family find the strength to cope with her loss.
