Well after my initial visit to A&E a couple of weeks ago in which I obviously had a smashed collarbone I also had X-rays of my LH side ribs as I was very sore, they couldn’t see anything .
Forward a couple of weeks to the Op on Thursday , had to wait till about 2pm before I was prepped for surgery, I didn’t come round till about 7pm and I as groggy as hell. They were concerned over my blood oxygen levels which was a bit low at 95 even with being given oxygen, they decided to keep me in overnight to monitor what was going on.
When I fell asleep the oxygen level was dropping down to 85 , as side effect of having sleep apnea as well. So once the shoulder is a bit better I have to visit apnea clinic as well!!.
To make things worse I got into er indoors car this afternoon and something clicked in my ribs which is fecking agony.
So overall feeling like shit at the minute.

Sorry to read this Kingfixer.
Fingers crossed the low oxygen levels investigations come to nothing, and at least your shoulder should mend well now.

Sounds like you’ve cracked a rib by the sounds of it Mick, fingers crossed you’re on the mend now, as Kwacky says - no laughing for the time being.

How bad is the apnea? Fwiw my Brother was on 50+ episodes an hour in bed, but getting a pressure mask cut that down to 3-4 per hour. He is a different person because of decent R.E.M. sleep.

Managed to go virtually all day without painkillers, which is a good thing as they are bunging me up (blush) by the time I go I should lose about half a stone :D :D

Haha is that cocodamol????

Glad your sorted and on the mend pal. All the best for the recovery. Hope Frankie is popping round and waiting on you hand and foot (giggle)

From someone who has had the same operation my advice would be get the metal work out as soon as the bone has healed. Definitely don't leave it in there.
