Russia and Football

Post by Kwacky »

On the run up to the Football World Cup in Russia, on the day that they announce a Russian hooligan has been arrested for attempted murder of an England fan in France in 2016, Russian fans in Spain have killed a police officer.

Well done FIFA. I hope the fat envelopes of cash are comfortable to sleep on.

It's usually 4 years before the event.

It's not like they can really switch the venue though, is it?

Could have another Soccer War, I suppose.

It should never have been given to Russia in the first place. It's not a new problem they've got.

They could quite easily switch venue as long as the country has a decent enough domestic league, Any of France, Germany, England, Spain could host a world cup on short notice because the leagues in those countries mean the infrastructure and stadiums are already up to standard unlike Russia, Qatar etc who have to spend millions upon millions to build stadiums that are suitable.

Russia was a stupid idea, as was Qatar, FIFA are a joke of an organisation that only care about £££

I watched an item several years ago about the Olympic Village from the 1980 (???) Moscow Olympics.
That whole venue has sat virtually untouched ever since....and even when it was new there was very little running water, no heat, etc.....basically just like the rest of Russia.

I say "untouched"... but all the sinks, doors, etc. have been stolen...

Russians are taking what the English had to a whole new level. English used to be into the designer clothes and fight but only with other firms Russians are taking this mentality too any English supporter. Its going to be a blood bath

Theres always some football supports that seem to be violent all over the world in all countries. Its a working class game and there are always some thick violent hooligans who were raised in rough families present in these games. I like watching football but I usually stay away from football stadiums because usually you see a lot of people who seem rough and ready to shout and show their aggression.

Football is bad because working class people like it and they're a bit rough looking?

Football isn,t bad but some of supports are rough and any contact with them should be avoided. (rock)

Yep....even the seating areas are called "the terraces", just so the riff-raff will feel like they're at home...

However we should probably never say working class because we all work for a living so we,re all working class but those rough individuals who go to football matches to put their aggression on display to get a kick should perhaps be called scums of the society and they exist amongst the football supporters all over the world.

I remember watching a documentary a few years back on the organised gangs out there with all the teams fans...this is nothing new, whats new is they will be no doubt forming alliances to take on the rest of the world when they descend on the country.

And the like minded hooligans from all the other countries will see it as a challenge.... :(
