Cameras everywhere. Which is more reason for people to use cloned plates.

A cloned plate is when someone with the same vehicle as yours copies your number plate and put its on their own.

Kwacky comment wasn’t suggesting people should use them, just those of that bent are more likely now that ever. If you read the “Fook Sake” thread you’ll see Kwacky himself has been on the recieving end of someone using cloned plates leaving him high and dry with his insurance claim.

Not just the M1.
M25 smart camera locations.
junction 7 to 10 M23
Junction 10 to 23 Cobham all the way around to A1 junction.
Which do go off and you will get done..... I have been a guest of the speed awareness course :(

Oh what fun, everyone sitting in a lane, not budging at 70 and below for miles and miles and miles and miles zzzzzzzzzzz

I thought cameras were on 24/7 anyway. I personally don't go over 70-75mph through any smart motorway sections at any time; *touches wood* it's served me well so far.

Is it a bad thing that folks stick to 70 mph ?

With today's driving standards for me it's a good thing .

There was an article in the Birmingham Mail the other day showing that overhead cameras on motorways in the West Midlands are now being used to catch drivers for going just over 70mph.

They are also fitting more of the new style cameras to the side of the gantry which are even more accurate.

The new ones have already gotten my dad who travels to Brum frequently. I believe they're called "Dual Laser" cameras; or at least that's how they work.

They need no markings to catch you

They wouldn,t bother with the A483 cos it wouldn,t pay for itself. The pay back period wouldn,t justify the intitial expenditure. On the M1 these cameras are paid for by the speeding public in no time at all. (rock)

using the m1 a bit lately and the new trend is speeding Braking for the camera accelerate. Its going to cause more accidents.

This afternoon there was a 40 section on the smart motorway i stuck to it and In a van i actually felt pretty vulnerable 90% of the traffic was Blasting past. Its bloody silly either make people do it or don't but cameras are not the answer

Hehe..... yeah on that bit it's a bit of a stretch...... well unless I am on the bike, I can do that in lane one, while all the other feckers are sitting up each other's chuff in lanes 2,3,4......And as Rocket says you are getting a lot of speed up brake hard for every sodding gantry as well.

As I have said and will continue to say, get more POLICE (visible) on the motorways, see the twats weaving out of lanes, driving to close, being a twat..... cameras do not capture these acts of poor driving and do not stop it. Which are the main reason why crashes occur. And get ride of so called smart (biggest miss named description ever) motorways... bring back a hard shoulder, it's safer, allows traffic to flow better.... I can describe so, so many incidents in the past two years where having a hard shoulder has proved this fact, compared to no spare lane for emergencies... access of otherwise. Leaving massive tailbacks, emergency services hampered trying too get through stationary metal brick wall..

On the M3 i keep seeing little yellow boxes on the side of the road, they look like speed cameras so im not surprised the m1 is being monitored.

I dont trust any motorways with the over head signs. All they want to do is catch you speeding. Was travelling doen the m25 coming back from the airport and at every other over head sign they had a different speed limit posted. Makes me really angry as i wont want people to be lookong up there i wany them to see me in front of them or behind then before accelerating or braking.
