Hang on.....I'm looking at the pics - WTF is a radio-controlled watch??

That sounds like the worst r/c toy ever.

Thanks Kiwi

D it's not how I've made it out to sound haha!! Basically it picks up a particular Arial and can change your watch time to the local time throughout the world. If you look closely at the watch it has all different cities around the world, they all mean a different time zone and inside the watch it picks up a signal and the second hand should point to the city that is correct for that time zone. Or something lile this. It's very clever bit of tech. Haven't got the signal part to work but if you point the second hand to a city it gets the time to that local time zone.

Anyway regardless it is an amazing anniversary gift I love it and I've always wanted a good quality watch but never got around to buying one so my partner did it for Me! Lol

Jess wants to see the ring or apparently it didn’t happen (lol)

And she says congratulations as well, she’s been hanging out to find out how it went, think you have a future in soap opera writing (lol)

Now that is a beautiful ring!!

Word of warning here mate....that's a four-prong mount - great way to highlight the stone, but also very fragile....just one of those prongs gets out of alignment and the stone will either come loose, or come out completely & get lost, and then you end up spending $$$$$$$ getting a new stone, mounting, etc. (ask me how I know..)

6 prong is the way to go, so bear that in mind for wife #2......

Cheers again lads. It took forever to decide but finally got there lol! I really apprieate everyone's comments it means a lot

D i picked out the top insurance for the ring which is valid for 5 years. I've let the misses know that she has got to be careful as don't fancy a diamond to go walk abouts lol!

I got alll of my wife's jewelry valued and took out insurance on it.

She once found the policy and saw how much I had spent on her, then started crying. "I can't believe this was all for me"

Then I started crying.

"I know. Just think of the bike parts I could have bought"

must be honest I didn't spend anywhere near as much on Abbies ring as I wanted too, mainly because she specifically didn't want a diamond as the main stone she wanted something colourful, which made it a lot harder to spend as much as silly as it sounds, worked out ok in the end, saved me money and she got what she really wanted, 1 day when I'm earning better money I plan on buying her a really really nice ring to make up for the lack of £££ spent initially. We did then use some of the money saved to go out and make out own wedding rings together, that was a good day actually, went to a little workshop, just us and a teacher and you make them how you want, whatever style you want etc

Sounds good mate, where did you do That, never heard of anywhere like that being able to make your own rings together.

That sounds like the perfect situation mate, no rule says you have to spend bucket loads, just a outdated expectation. In my mind making your own rings together, to the spec you both wanted, is exactly the way it should be done and will mean those rings have much more value for you both than their monetary worth.

I lobbed the ring box at her whilst on the way out of the door. She opened it and said "is this what I think it is"? I said "Don't make it any harder than it already is." and that was that.
