Snow can have some benefits

Post by T.C. »

Mrs TC has been out in Vienna for the past 10 days visiting her brother who has lived there for over 10 years.

She was due back into Heathrow tonight about now (7pm ish) and it is my job to collect her and her mother as her youngest brother is too bone idle to get off his arse and put himself out.

Anyway, I had forgotten until a few days ago that Reading are live on the box against Cardiff, so when she emailed me, I joking asked if she could either come home a day early or stay another day and come home on Tuesday.

I got a few choice words at that suggestion, as she really only goes out to jeep her mother company and is usuallu bored stupid by about day 5.

Anyway, got an email this morning. Flight cancelled. She will be coming home tomorrow (Tuesday) as I wanted, but she has to go via Madrid :)

So departs Vienna mid morning, flies down to Madrid and then a connecting BA flight back to Heathrow.

So now, she is coming back to T5 instead of T3 which makes life easier with all the changes going on at the moment, and I can now enjoy the game without being interupted.

RESULT! :) (y)

I assured her that I didn't rig it, honest

Whereabouts in Berkshire are you? I am in Woodley and popped out for about 10 minutes yesterday, and I was frozen to the core when I got back indoors (blush)

I never used to feel the cold and used to be a T shirt and shorts guy (relative term) until well into January which meant cold weather riding never used to bother me, but because of my illness, anything south of 5 degrees and I seem to freeze my gonads off ;( (blush)

Ha, I'm less than 10 miles from you too T.C.

With Frankie just round the corner we really should sort out some rides round this way when it warms up a bit.

I had better start pressurising the Doctor into allowing me to ride again then :) ;)

Well snow made my flight out from heathrow on Monday over 4 hours late.

OK, Snow was only to blame for 45mins (plane was in wrong location due to snow). But then that plane broke down, so we had to wait for another to be ready. Then they had to de-ice the wings as it had sat idle too long. Then the truck the de-ices stuff broke down and we had to wait for another.

In the end I was travelling for 25hours (and I can sleep on the plane).

The only benefit was that I was driving on LA freeways at 1am so got to my hotel really quick. And had a mighty 3 hours sleep before getting up for work.
