First impressions

Post by duke63 »

Are usually correct.

An ex neighbour of ours who lived opposite in our last house was convicted of sexual offences against two 17 year old girls this week. He was a driving instructor with a wife and two kids but he always made me and the wife feel a little uncomfortable (and another neighbour).

Strange how these impressions often turn out to be correct.

A lot of us are far more capable of reading people than we realise. The current thinking suggests that at least 55% of communication is nonverbal, so your "first impressions" may well have been down to you subconsciously reading him.

Read up on first impressions and impression formation. I think it was Luchins. It's the fastest process our brains perform.
