Now they're talking about 20 dead.

One of the attackers is a local resident

That sounds like machine gun fire to me http://news.sky.com/video/moment-gunsho ... g-11064172" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

50+ dead now. WTF is wrong with you guys. Start getting rid of your guns - the death and misery from all of these constant shootings is appalling.

Nevada gun laws:-

Restrictions
Gun bans: None.

Waiting periods for gun purchases: None statewide. However, certain municipalities have a waiting period for handgun purchases.
License or permit required to purchase guns: None.

Registration of guns: None statewide. However, certain municipalities require the registration of handguns. In Clark County, for example, handguns must be registered within 72 hours by anyone who resides within the city for more than 60 days.

At what point must this person be at to start shooting people and in an extreme way like this? Has he been asking for psychological help and has been ignored or what? I really don't know much about what is happening at the moment

That kinda implies that anyone, can go & buy any weapon they choose, at any time, without any documentation whatsoever...which is simply not the case.

Nevada is a shall-issue state, meaning concealed carry permits must be issued to qualified applicants. Permits are issued by local law enforcement agencies at a cost of $105 and are valid for five years.

Unlike most states, Nevada requires permit holders to list each gun they intend to carry on the permit and qualify with those guns. The requirement excludes revolvers, which do not have to be listed individually. A handgun safety course is required, along with a background check, before permits can be issued.

Nevada does not issue permits to anyone under the age of 21, anyone who is barred from owning a gun under federal law, such as convicted felons, anyone who has habitually used alcohol or drugs within the past five years, anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor involving the use of force or violence within the past three years, or anyone convicted of domestic violence crimes who is still on probation

Good guy with a gun fails to prevent 2,916th successive mass shooting

America is beginning to wonder precisely when a good guy with a gun is actually going to prevent a mass shooting.

The good guy with a gun has been cited as an effective deterrent against firearm homicide, but has thus far failed to save any of the 280,000 Americans killed by firearms since 2000.

With yet another massacre taking place last night, some Americans have started to wonder where the heck this good guy actually is – and some lone, dissenting voices have begun to question if he even exists.

However, NRA spokesman Simon-Bob Williams insisted the strategy was sound.

“If fewer people were armed we’d actually have more mass shootings, not less”, he told us with his eyes pointing in different directions.

“That’s how logic works in these here parts, boy, and don’t you forget it.

“We armed teachers, airline passengers, the police, bus drivers, passers-by and deranged rednecks in a bid to boost safety.

“We just forget to include holidaymakers and concertgoers. We’ll be encouraging Congress to pass mandatory ‘holiday carry’ laws to ensure this never happens again.”

Where there's a will there's a way....the Manchester bombing being a case-in-point - no guns there yet dozens of casualties.

Same scenario with different methodology.

Are you comparing the two?

There have been 272 mass shootings so far this year in the US.

Because we've had 22 people killed in a bomb attack and the USA has got more than 11,000 gun deaths so far this year.

Because we don't accept bombing as part of our daily lift

Because we don't think it's a good idea to allow people to go to Walmart to buy bombs

Because we don't think people have the right to carry a bomb around with them

Because we don't argue having more bombs on our streets is the way to prevent future bombings

Because we don't think having access to bombs is needed to protect us from the government.

close to 60 dead and hundreds injured. Sounds like he planned it for some time. There was a massive stockpile of weapons and ammunition.

I wonder what his motive was?

It'll end up being 'revenge' for some perceived injustice.
