Twenty fecking seven contact lenses

How can you not know?

Surgeons have removed 27 contact lenses from the eye of a 67-year-old woman who had come to Solihull Hospital for routine cataract surgery.

"A bluish foreign body" turned out to be a "hard mass" of 17 lenses stuck together with mucus, and 10 more were then found under further examination.

A report in the BMJ said she had worn disposable lenses for 35 years, and had not complained of any irritation.

But after they were removed, she said her eyes felt a lot more comfortable

I've lost a contact when it's gone behind my eye lid and it's very uncomfortable.

Silly cow.

I would never be able to do contacts.. I pretty much have a phobia of touching eyes. I can only just manage to touch my eye when there's a fly in it and every time I contemplate leaving it in there for forever

I think many people- rightly or wrongly - attach a stigma (or astigmatism??) to wearing glasses. No-one has any problem wearing sunglasses though??

I knew this thread reminded me of someone.....actor Christopher Lambert is nearly blind...he can't wear contacts, and in a lot of roles he can't wear glasses either, which has led to him getting profoundly fcuked-up on set when stunts go wrong.
