Off to the Isle of Wight

Post by T.C. »

Leaving for the Isle of Wight in a short while. I have a couple of meetings after lunch and then I am guest speaker at the Isle of Wight advanced group tonight before catching the 10.30pm Red Jet back to the mainland tonight.

Even 80 miles inland I can feel the wind picking up and the forcast is getting worse. It could make for an interesting if not fun 25 minutes crossing the Solent.

I don't get sea sick but others are not so fortunate.

Hey ho, fun day ahead....

Enjoy. Hopefully the crossing won't be too bad. The weather forecasts seem to suggest that tomorrow will be when the winds batter the UK.

Good job you were not earlier - there was an unexploded bomb they found in portsmouth harbour yesterday. All ferries cancelled apparently.

I saw that on the local news. Doesn't seem to affect crossings out of Southampton though.

Either way, should be sorted by the time I depart...

It was all fine.

Return crossing was a bit bouncy :) and few passengers looked a bit green around the gills :D Just adds a bit of fun to the ride IMO ;)

The bomb issue in Portsmouth was not even an issue for the Southampton crossings
