Star Wars Rebels

Post by Kwacky »

If you're a bit of a star wars fanboy (like what I am) I recommend the Star Wars Rebels cartoon series. It sits between Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One. Most of the Jedi are gone. Vader is getting stronger and he has the Inquisitor to try and wipe out the last of the Jedi Knights. There's a lot of missing information provided in these cartoons and Rogue One has some references in it to the Rebels series, including a good "I am at one with the force" scene.

Sorry to bore you non-SW fans :x

I tried it and couldn't watch it....i just don't think SW works in a television medium. It's been out for a couple of years hasn't it??

Yep, first series aired in 2014. Series 3 is on UK TV at the moment.

I get your point, visually it's far removed from the films but it's true to the main films storylines and it fits in nicely. There's about a 20 year gap between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope so this lets us know what went on and about how the rebel alliance started off.

The guy who did the artwork for the 3 original films inspired the way that Rebels looks.

Stars Wars died the day the feckin' Ewoks showed up...
Living in trees that they were way too short to climb...stealing speeder bikes...and throwing picnic parties.

Well then at least when he was making out with his sister there would have been lesbo action going on.

I watched the end of Series 2 today. Vader fighting Anakin's old apprentice is a bit of a shock, so is the other person involved. I won't give anything away in case people want to watch it, but there's so much more information in these cartoons it makes the films even more detailed.

I'll bet Lucas almost cringes at the monster he created.

Then checks his savings account.

I've just finished season 3. There are some massive plot moments in this. Next season is the last, I'm not sure when it airs but it's only about 2 years away from A New Hope, so it makes sense to end it now. A couple of loose lines have been tidied up but it looks like they're going to have to finish off a few of the key characters.

Oddly enough I just watched some cast & crew interviews last night.....from a convention, I guess.
It has to be odd for some of the actors.....you never even see them in the flesh in the films....and in many ways they end up playing the role forever. Typecast both on AND off the screen.
Mark Hamill had a pretty good perspective on things....and Ian McDiarmid was a laugh.....despite being introduced as "Ian McDermott".

Watched "Rogue One" again today.....starting to like this one a bit more...not that I "disliked" it in the first place, but I think this one has a lot of stuff to offer....you can't take it all in in just one go.
