I let my kids try my wines and beers if I'm drinking in the house. They can have a sip. I don't want to take a prohibition approach to drinking, like you I want them to appreciate it.

My eldest won't touch beer but the youngest loves it and mithers me for it every time I have a drink.

On holiday once he was pestering me that much for a beer and stressing me out I poured his juice in my empty bottle of Magners and let him drink it (I was a little drunk at this time myself and probably not my best decision (lol) ). You should have seen some people's faces as they watched a 2 year old in his pram swinging a bottle of Magners (blush)

When Georgie was about 3 me and Perkles were having a take away in my house. I asked Georgie to fetch me a bottle of beer from the fridge, which she did. As she got the bottle she walked back into the living room singing "beer, beer, beer, beer" Perkles face was priceless.

Haha I know the feeling. My missus was embarassed in the supermarket when he started shoutimg " let's get some dirty beer mummy" very loudly.

I also remeber getting pulled to one side by his nursery teach who said "Harry has told me he drinks dirty beer with Daddy" before I could answer she said he then added "Don't worry only at the weekends" where do they get this stuff from its priceless and luckily his nursery teacher also thought so (giggle)

When Byron was about 6, I'd poured a couple of nips of gin over ice, but found I was out of tonic in the bar fridge so went to grab some more from the main fridge and left my part made drink on the bar. I got back to seeByron rubbing his tongue. He'd thought it was a bit of left over lemonade and took a swig of neat gin (lol)

My local had a cider festival. It's the first time I've seen Beermonster beaten by drink.

I'm pretty new to ciders Monty, so what's the deal with a vintage cider over a run of the mill?

No idea dude, all new to me to. I've started drinking cider because I've had to stop drinking beer and feel a bit of a wally drinking wine in the pub. Three pints of wine and I'm anybody's!

Monty, the Henry Weston's dry vintage is mega if you're in the mood, or if you happen to be in the SW a pint of Rattler is cracking throat wetter. (y)

Some over priced IPA. £5.60 for a pint. Serves me right for just pointing at a tap.

Just enjoying a bottle of that now, top stuff. Mind you it's helped by the village shop including it in their 3 for a fiver deal (happy)

A preprandial Negroni, and very nice too.

For Kiwi's (or anyone else's) benefit.

50% Tanqueray #10
25% Campari
25% Antica Carpano
Stir
Lots of ice.

Enjoy.....

P.S. I know a real Negroni is 33% but this works for me. (rock)

Isn't that the one that used to be The Cross? It was expensive then so i imagine it's gone 'upmarket' - i.e. expensive.

Yep that's the one. They've opened a wine bar up as well which is next door to it. The British Oak is owned by the same people.
