I bought a bottle of Mourvèdre red last night to go with my chorizo based dinner, ive had it before and it's pretty good, as we were sitting watching a film with myself enjoying a sip from time to time, Mini Gee asked if he could try it (he's 13).
Now I got to try all sorts as a child and tbh it's left me with a passion for food and drink, plus I know (and he knows) it's customary in France and other countries to give children watered wine with dinner. So I let him try a 60/40 wine/water mix, it's a novelty for him, and whilst he liked the flavour, he wasn't impressed that the bouquet almost disappears with the addition of water.
That said, I'm all for experimentation in the home where I can supervise it and help guide him, to what I hope will be a lifetime of enjoying the grape and grain.
