After another weekend last weekend of both days exceeding 45 deg thought this was quite entertaining but very true.

Ouch. Ive been in that temp before, and I remember not even being able to stand in it for long. And had to find shade (which at Hoover Dam is quite hard, lol)

The thing that gets me the most is breathing the hot air. I used to cycle to the air base when I was still there and anything over 40 used to burn your lungs when your on the push bike

The thing that gets me the most is when you puke in your helmet & get vom-splat all over the inside of your visor. So you open your visor, and then get secondary vom-splat back in your face. And then it falls out down the front of your leathers, giving them a secondary-vom-splat- leopard-print-design, as you pull into the pitlane. Charming.

I didn’t find motor biking in over 40’s as hard as cycling in over 40’s.

I wouldn't even think about cycling in those temps.
The old Chino Boy's Republic MTB Race used to usually be in the '90s, and it was a short, brutal vom-fest...but too many people were getting heat-stroke & they stopped running it. Pity....loved that race. Never made the podium though. Boo-hoo.

I can relate. One of my adult males is on the loose. It's currently sat behind a radiator. The radiator just happens to be next to my desk seat. So I'm spending the day working with one eye on the radiator in case any legs appear.

Perth has its first covid case in 10 months and the whole city has been shut down according to the news reports.

I know Australia was saying they don't think they will accept tourists until 2023.

Yup, a security guard from a hotel quarantine location that had known cases from incoming travelers. In Aussie they differentiate between incoming traveler cases in quarantine (all incoming travelers must quarantine for 14 days and be tested, and if positive, not released till two negative tests 5 days apart) and locally communicated cases. This is Perth's first local acquired case in 10 months, and they have locked down the city and a large regional area.

Penrith is a major metro area within Sydney. Perth is as far as you can possibly get from Sydney and still be in Australia.

There is a tiny little town in Tasmania call Perth, but it has about 2,000 people and I doubt many Aussie's even know it exists

That's the one....in Tasmania, I mean. I remember seeing it on the map way-back-when, for some reason or other.

Still not near-ish to Sydney... unless you consider 1100km of road travel and 430km of ferry travel close (wasntme)
