I watched a Documentary the other week about a bloke who restored a p-51, best part was he had no aviation background other than an interest in it, he had done a few classic cars and literally just decided that he felt like giving the Mustang ago next. fair play to him, he was saying in it that warplane restoration is quite a cliquey business and as he had no experience he found people very unwilling to help so ended up just using the old blue prints and working from them, thing is he did such a good job restoring the engine he now runs the UKs biggest restorer of Merlin engines and does about 3 a year. As I said was pretty cool to watch and good to see someone get something back out of what was his passion. Was literally a bloke like any of us that started it in his shed and moved into a hanger as it grew, he got his licence while doing it to so that once it was finished he could fly it!
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...

the Merlin in the P51 was built under license in the US by Pratt and Whitney and although it was the same design every nut and bolt was different as the americans used AF sizes and Rolls Royce used imperial .

NCIS....the one with David McCallum.

By my count, just about everyone in the US Navy has been murdered by now.

Doesn't surprise me one bit...I know that Packard was building Merlins too.....some early Me/Bf-109s even had Merlins.

'Globalization' was taking place a long time before we had a name for it, I guess.

The scary bit it's it's not too many steps from where we are now. They make quite a legitimate storyline in how the situation develops.

And Trump is snuggling up the the fanatical Christians atm :(
